I have posted some here on another thread but thought I would create my own thread and give an update. I purchased and installed these turbos myself the end of April I purchased these through eBay because I felt more comfortable using PayPal with thier buyer protection. Claim to have a 1 year warranty. I know these same turbos can be found on AliExpress and looks like a few others sites.

I will Need PI if I want to push these anymore. So far I have put about miles on them running around 20PSI. They have been trouble free thus far. I had people tell me they would blow up right out of the box, wasting your time and money, blah blah blah, usual scare tactics. This is my daily driver and I will try to keep you all informed.

The center section of these turbos are a TD03 center with TD04 9 blade and what they say is 16T wheel, although it seems to measure a little bigger than the specs of a 16T wheel. So they should be comparable in power. Keep in mind these are China turbos with chinese quality control so I would only recommend if you are willing to DIY the install.

I know there were a few in the series, from 12t up to 19t And, I also know that upgrading from the 13g to the 15g is also quite popular, especially on this forum. I'm also interested in the compatibility of a stock Volvo RWD exhaust manifold with some of the bigger, 16t and 19t turbos.

My 16t has a flat flange on the hot side, instead of the conical flange my 12t has, on the 'mani. Would one assume use a 15g hot side and run the 16t wheel and cold side? I guess, most importantly, I'm asking As far as i can understand there are only 2 different tdo4 exhaust wheels. There is the smaller td04 and the larger td04hl wheel. The 13c has the smaller wheel but the 15g and up share the same larger exhaust wheel.

I don't know about the 12t. I scored a 16t which is a flat flange exhaust, so wanted to know my options in terms of a conical hot side.

A friend is borrowing my old 15g conical housing for his 16t so i know this works. I would recommend trying to stay away from a conical housing. I had trouble controlling boost with mine and the stock exhaust. Swapping to a 3" and flat flange housings made a big difference.

I melted a 13c wastegate port really bad on my old wagon. I'll see if I can find a pic.

Why bother with these micro turbos? Does anyone have a good source for the banjo fittings that fit the 16T? Mike P. Regarding the wastegate cracking stuff, I removed my T25 and there is a big crack in it right through the wastegate port.

I think it happened when the exhaust broke. I had been driving on the freeway for two hours, then the weld broke right at the cat, leaving a total of like four inches of exhaust off the turbo. It appeared to have a few problems that I didn't check before purchasing the car. The compressor housing and bypass valve housings were leaking oil, as well as being bathed in oil from a rear cam seal leak. I will be replacing it with a good used 16T turbocharger, and rebuilding the 15G for future use. Can't wait to stick it in the dishwasher! As some of these cars are now approaching 20 years old, the seals in these turbochargers tend to become very brittle and cannot do their job well anymore.

This is normal, and not typically a cause for concern if oil is discovered in your intake piping. Oil can also seep out of the compressor bypass valve housing, which was one of the failure points on my turbo pictured above.

The bypass valve uses a silicone diaphragm that diverts excess pressure after a sudden reduction in throttle input.
